The first phase of our roof restoration has been progressing better than expected and we are now about six weeks into the project. After removing the existing roofing material from the first section, our engineer, Michael Jundt, was able to assess and recommend needed repairs. Local contractors, Rosenfeld Construction and CJ Brock have been hired to execute the planned work.
The scope of work for this first phase will remove and replace the existing roofing material, repair structural damage, replace and insulate window space, restore internal lighting, and provide sustainable protection for the glulam beams. In addition to addressing the water leaks and structural integrity concerns, the repairs will provide improved energy efficiency. The first section represents 15-20% of the total restoration of the dome and is expected to be completed in September. Additional sections will be scheduled.
